Spiritwood/Urbana EF3 Tornado

The Spiritwood/Urbana tornado was one of the first violent supercell case files in the June 20 event. NWS Grand Forks later upgraded the track to EF3 after reviewing farmstead damage, steel shed damage, tree damage, and high-resolution satellite evidence of ground scouring.

Farmstead damage and ground scouring.

NWS says the tornado developed near the Stutsman/Barnes County line, missed Urbana to the northwest, produced EF3 damage to two homes roughly a mile apart, then turned northwest and west as it weakened into eastern Stutsman County.
