GULF COAST / ISAIAS 2026
What we’re tracking
By Weather.Watch · Written overview updated
Isaias has become the first hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic season. The National Hurricane Center’s 1 a.m. CDT October 8 advisory reported 75 mph sustained winds, with further strengthening expected as the storm approaches the northern Gulf Coast.
That advisory included a storm-surge warning from the mouth of the Mississippi River to Florida’s Steinhatchee River. This is a dated overview, not a continuously updated warning list. Check the current NHC advisory and your local National Weather Service office for changes.
Coastal flooding & storm surge
Follow local evacuation guidance and official surge forecasts. Conditions and warning areas can change as the track develops.
Wind & inland rainfall
Our team is following the track, damaging-wind potential, and heavy rainfall beyond the coast. Check warnings for your location and never drive through flooded roads.
